So most of you have had the pleasure of dealing with me either face to face (before the onset of Coronavirus) or over the phone for the last 14 years.
4 years ago my amazing brother and I decided to take the plunge and we took over Lower Village Garage from my dad and attempted to forge our own path.
What a 4 years it’s been! We are so lucky to have the customers we have and for me to have the support of my fabulous business partner.
So tonight I’ll be raising a glass to celebrate..here’s to you Phil!!!
Closed Friday 4th October 2019
The garage will be closed on Friday 4th October due to the annual GroupAuto trade show and conference held in Liverpool. This is a great day for the techs as it gives them chance to talk to the representatives behind the parts companies we use. They also get to watch free demos and talk about the latest innovations in tools (plus there's a free lunch!!)
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Wow, I haven't realised it'd be so long since I had been on here. Winter seems like a lifetime ago!
Summer is nearly here, I can feel it. With the weather getting increasingly better and the summer holidays just around the corner it's important that before you take any lengthy trips you make sure your car is ready to go.
Lights, levels and tyre pressures are paramount to making sure those little trips away don't end up with you by the side of the motorway waiting to be recovered home.
Lower Village Garage offers a fantastic piece of mind service to cover these essentials for you. A safety check does exactly what it says, it checks the safety of these things. For £30.25 + VAT you can drive away with piece of mind knowing that a professional has checked all of those things for you.
We have been known to assist with caravan preperation so I have had a look at a few websites that cover tyre safety concerns for motorists and have found a section regarding caravan tyres. Take a look and make sure that you try to prevent against the unexpected.
Enjoy your summer guys and don't forget we're here when you need us.

With winter just around the corner we all need to be keeping track on the tread on our tyres. Are they wearing evenly, or are the legal? Follow the useful tips on the webpage to check or call in and let us take the stress out of it for you.
Don't forget, we can obtain a wide variety of makes of tyres at competitive prices.
Back to Tyre Safety Information
Tyre treads are designed to give good grip on wet roads but this generally decreases as a tyre’s tread pattern wears down or as the depth of water increases. Drivers should take this into consideration and reduce their speed accordingly in wet conditions
The legal minimum tread depth for cars in the UK is 1.6mm throughout a continuous band comprising the central three-quarters of breadth of the tread and around its entire outer circumference.
In wet weather tyre tread grooves help to remove water from the contact patch between your tyres and the road surface meaning your car can brake, steer and accelerate properly.
Without adequate tread depth your tyres may not be able to perform properly in wet conditions, reducing your safety on the road. It is therefore advisable to consider replacing your tyres well before they reach the legal minimum.
Furthermore, drivers whose tyres fail to comply with the minimum tread depth requirements risk a fine of up to £2,500 and three penalty points for each illegal tyre
THE 20P TEST
A quick and easy way to see if your tyre tread exceed the minimum legal tread depth is to take the 20p test.
Simply place a 20p coin into the main tread grooves of your tyre. If the outer band of the 20p coin is obscured when it is inserted, then your tread is above the legal limit.
If the outer band of the coin is visible, then your tyres may be illegal and unsafe and should be checked immediately by a qualified tyre professional.
When taking the test, remember to check at least three locations around each tyre. As the test is so quick and easy, stay safe by checking your tyres at least once a month.
In situations when your tyres have insufficient tread depth to clear the water properly from the road surface, you may experience the particularly hazardous phenomenon of aquaplaning.
During aquaplaning, your tyres lose contact with the road surface and travel on top of the water’s surface. With no contact with the road, you are unable to accelerate, brake or steer effectively, greatly increasing your risk of being involved in an accident.
To reduce your risk of aquaplaning, check your tyre tread depth regularly.
